Holler is an AI answering service for service businesses, operated by Holler AI LLC ("Holler," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when a business uses Holler, what we do with it, and who else touches it. We wrote it in plain language on purpose.

Who this covers

Two groups of people show up in our systems: customers — the business owners and staff who sign up for Holler — and callers — the people who phone a customer's business and reach Holler instead of voicemail. We handle information about both, and we describe both below.

What we collect

Business and account information. Your name, email address, phone number, business name, business address, service area, hours, services offered, pricing basics, and the answering rules you configure during setup. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects your billing details; we receive a record of the transaction, not your full card number.

Call content. To provide the service, we process the audio of calls placed to your Holler number, along with machine-generated transcripts and structured summaries (caller name, callback number, service address, and the reason for the call). Recordings and transcripts are what let you see who called and what they wanted, and they are what the assistant uses to book appointments and take messages.

Messaging content. Text messages we send or receive on your behalf, including appointment confirmations and review requests, plus delivery status.

Calendar availability. If you connect an external calendar, we read busy/free time from the feed you provide so we don't double-book you. We store the busy windows we need for scheduling.

Usage and technical data. Log data about how your account uses the service — call volume, feature usage, error and diagnostic events, IP address, browser and device information.

How we use it

We use this information to answer your calls, capture and deliver your leads, book appointments, send the notifications you asked for, bill you accurately, provide support, investigate problems, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the reliability and accuracy of the service. We also use it to meet legal obligations.

We do not use your call content for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles of your callers.

We do not sell your personal information

Holler does not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. We share information only with the service providers described below, and only so they can perform work for us.

Third-party processors

Running a phone service takes a handful of vendors. The categories we rely on are:

  • Voice AI providers — to generate the assistant's speech and understand callers in real time.
  • Telephony and messaging carriers — to provision phone numbers and carry calls and SMS.
  • Cloud hosting and database providers — to run the application and store your data.
  • Payment processing — to handle subscriptions and invoices.
  • Email delivery — to send account, appointment, and notification email.

Each is bound to use the information only to provide services to Holler. We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.

Call recording and consent

Every call answered by Holler is recorded and transcribed, and the assistant tells callers so at the start of every call — this announcement is always on and cannot be turned off. Whether the assistant also introduces itself as an AI is a setting in your account. Recording and consent laws vary by state, and some states require all parties to consent; you are responsible for making sure your use of Holler complies with the law where you and your callers are located.

SMS and text messaging

Account notifications (web form opt-in). When you create a Holler account you may tick a box agreeing to receive text messages from Holler at the mobile number you provide: missed-call alerts, lead notifications, listing check-ins, and service or billing notices about your account. Consent is optional and is not a condition of signing up; you can give or withdraw it at any time in Settings. Message frequency varies with your call activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time; after STOP you will receive one confirmation and no further messages.

Caller-facing texts. When Holler texts a caller on your behalf (an appointment confirmation or a review request), those messages relate to the call the person just placed to your business. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Recipients can reply STOP to opt out of further messages at any time, or HELP for help.

No sharing of mobile information. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Numbers are shared only with the telephony carriers that deliver the messages.

Retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Call recordings, transcripts, and lead records are retained so you can review your call history, and are deleted after your account closes, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes. You can ask us to delete specific recordings or transcripts at any time.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is limited to people who need it, and customer data is separated at the database level so one account cannot read another's. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.

Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your business information in your dashboard, turn the assistant off with the master switch, disconnect a calendar, and cancel your subscription at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information. Email us and we'll take care of it.

Children

Holler is a business tool and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and notify account holders by email or in the dashboard before the change takes effect.
